I challenge...someone! D:

3 vs. 3

Single battle

Style: Set

Disqualification: 7 days

Banned Moves: No OHKO moves, only one pokémon may be frozen or asleep on either team at any time. No healing moves. No weather changing moves. No protection or nullifying moves, such as Protect, Detect, Light Screen, Using attack to deflect is fine though. No Substitute or Pain Spllit.

Damage Cap: 20%

Arena: The Power Dome

Description: The arena is a large transparent dome, 50 feet in diameter and 40 feet in height. Inside the ground is covered in an impenetrable grate with thick bars holding it in place, the whole dome is made of unbreakable glass and reinforced with impenetrable steel. If a Pokémon is to be thrown into this shielding a magical force will bend the glass and steel to force it to bounce back. The dome is not just called The Power Dome because of this. No, no. The dome itself attacks the Pokémon inside it every two rounds, with one of these moves:

Flamethrower
Ice Beam
Leaf Storm
Surf
Gravity
Magnet Rise
Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Stone Edge
Sludge Bomb

There is a nine percent chance of each of these moves occurring, nine percent chance nothing will happen and a one percent chance that the dome will explode, knocking out both Pokémon in play. Good luck! /sarcasm.

Challenge for Silver:

2 vs. 2

Single Battle

Style: Set

DQ: five days

Banned Moves: OHKOs, Moves that involve large bodies of water or earth (i.e. earthquake, dig.), any healing moves, chills. Weather moves can be used, but they won't have any effect.

Damage Cap: 40%

Arena: The incredibly large concert soundstage that has been set up for an upcoming performance by a popular band.

Arena Description: Somehow, the ref and two combatants have managed to sneak their way into a concert hall, and are have decided to have a battle in the center. The stage is along one wall of the concert hall, and has been wired with amplifiers, lights, and many other complicated electronics for an upcoming OneRepublic concert. The stage is 70 feet long by 30 feet wide, and the floor is made of black linoleum. The area where the audience would be is sectioned off by metal gates. So, how is this arena any different, you ask? Well...

Each round, the person who is issuing commands first may ask the ref to listen to a song instead of a first action. (they can then use their next two actions to attack.) The song will also be broadcast to the two pokemon using the stage's impressive sound system. The ref then chooses what effect the song will have on the two pokemon. The song must equally effect both pokemon. (ie, hurt both pokemon or heal both pokemon. it CANNOT hurt one pokemon and heal another, or anything to that affect.) Only the person who is attacking first that particular round may ask to play a song.

Also, the head electrician didn't do a very good job when he wired the soundstage. Each round....

There is a 15% chance that all of the lights in the concert hall will blink off for one random action, causing both pokemon's attacks to miss.
There is a 10% chance that an amplifier will emit a screeching static noise for one random action, causing both pokemon to flinch.
There is a 10% chance that an amplifier on the stage will explode, causing one pokemon 10% fire-type damage. both pokemon have an equal chance of being hit.
There is a 5% chance that a large rack of spotlights will fall onto the stage, causing both pokemon 20% steel-type damage.
and, of course, there is a 55% chance that nothing will happen. But that's no fun.

I love using Seventh Sanctum to come up with ideas for arenas.

1vs1 single
Style: Set
DQ: Standard week
Damage cap: 60%
Banned moves: OHKO's; each Pokemon limited to one direct-healing move
Arena: Witches' Province

A magical corner of the world, inhabited primarily by witches and warlocks. The arena itself is in the center of a typical forest, with your standard-issue witch's cottage just on the arena's outskirts. Puffs of multicolored smoke have a habit of escaping the cottage's chimney, and can cause hallucinogenic effects on Pokemon that inhale them (which will be primarily or solely Flyers, since the smoke isn't heavier than air). This causes them to be moderately Confused but have random stat boosts to any combination of Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed, and Accuracy which are cumulatively equal to +6.

The arena itself, being so infused by magic, has some odd effects on Pokemon battling within it. At the end of each round, one of the following effects will occur:
18% chance that one Pokemon will receive a +2 boost to one stat (either Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, Speed, and Accuracy) (3% each stat)
18% chance that one Pokemon will receive a -2 penalty to one stat (3% each stat)
12% chance that both Pokemon will receive a +1 boost to one stat (2% each stat)
12% chance that both Pokemon will receive a -1 penalty to one stat (2% each stat)
5% chance that one Pokemon will be given the effects of Magic Coat
5% chance that one Pokemon will receive Magic Guard in addition to its normal ability (this lasts for one round)
5% chance that Magic Room will go into effect (this is a Trick Room-like Gen V effect that removes all effects of items)
5% chance that one Pokemon will receive Magic Mirror in addition to its normal ability (all stat-lowering moves are reflected back to the user) (this lasts for one round)
5% chance that both Pokemon will recover 40% Health
5% chance that both Pokemon will recover 40% Energy
10% chance that nothing will happen

Profile

I hope nobody minds that I put Gen V stuff in here for arena effects.

I was originally going to take an older challenge but apparently someone else is going to, so I guess I'll use my freshly-opened slot on this instead. Looks fun.

here, have a thing (will be making some modifications to active squad in a minute; ref, don't start the thread just yet all clear now)

Arena: The Inside of Zora’s Mind

Well. No one knows how our heroes have managed this one, but it seems the universe has finally imploded around them, sending them (and the ref) spiraling into the depths of the mind of an crazy redhead.

The stage is around the size of an average arena, however, it is translucent and rainbow-colored, and appears to be floating amidst a sort of purple void, with two roads made of rainbow extending to either side of the field. Every so often, the scenery around the arena will change, although this has no effect on the battle and so can change to whatever, whenever, at the referee’s discretion. There also are two small ponds to either edge of the arena for Water-types.

Although being inside the mind of someone like her has… other, effects.

- The moves Attract and Captivate, as well as other moves that base their effects on gender, can hit all Pokemon on the field, rather than just the specified gender.
- And also, there seem to be stimulants in the air in this arena, giving all Pokemon a boost in energy, setting it at an initial 150%.

Other: Only Fakemon (as approved here) may be used.

Arena: Floaroma Meadow

The gentleman who sells honey in Floaroma Town has ... somewhat reluctantly let two trainers borrow his meadow for a pokemon battle. The area is covered in a rainbow of flowers, and the faint humming of Combee at work can be heard. Sunny Day is in effect, shining over the multicoloured meadow, and it's a warm spring day.

Other: There is a 10% chance that a pokemon will sneeze from the pollen in the air; this counts as a Flinch and will prevent the pokemon from attacking for that action.
